GENERAL
ITM TÜRHOL organic fertilizers will contribute to an increased agricultural production and a sustainable agriculture. A balanced combination of organic fertilizers and mineral fertilizers will guarantee an optimal production while soil quality is conserved, or even improved. Our organic granular fertilizers are a first class organic fertilizers and have been used succesfully in many countries.
PRODUCTION & ENVIRONMENT
All over the world soil quality is decreasing due to a shortage of organic matter. Continuous culture often results in the degradation of soil quality, causing decreasing yields. To prevent this, nutrients and organic matter must be added on a regular basis.
Organic matter plays an important role in the physical, chemical, and biological condition of the soil. A good soil structure optimizes water availability and air distribution, which stimulates root activity. The shallow rooting system of citrus trees demands this good soil structure and improved water retaining capacity.
The high quality organic matter in our organic granular fertilizers also stimulates microbiological activity of the soil, which has a positive effect on crop yield. Because of the high content of organic matter, our fertilizers play a major role in conserving your soil quality.
SLOW RELEASE
Fertilizers are needed to supply the crop with nutrients. Most chemical fertilizers release their nutrients instanttaneously, our granular fertilizers act as a slow-release N-fertilizer. Since nutrient uptake takes place during several months, gradual release will better fit nutrient requirement in time. About 80% of all N is bount in organic compounds, and is largely released as ammonium and is directly available for uptake.
Application of our organic granular fertilizers creates a nutrient buffer in the soil, which decreases yield risks. The high exchange capacity of the organic matter in our fertilizers will reduce nutrient losses by leaching, resulting in a higher recovery. Note that only part of the total nutrient demand can be met with organic fertilizers. Chemical fertilizers should be used provide additional nutrients. The amount of this addition depends on the condition of the soil and crop of course. Fertigation is ideal to applythe bulk N, P and K at the right moment.
TRACE ELEMENTS
In addition to the macronutrients N, P, K, Mg and S, our granular fertilizers contains substantial amounts of all essential trace elements like Mn, Zn, Fe and B. Part of the organic compounds in our fertilizers act as chelates improving trace element availability. Especially in calcareous soils, vine yards will benefit from this improved trace element availability. Special attention should be paid to trace element deficiency symptoms.
EASY HANDLING
The granular form of our fertilizers makes it suitable for all kinds of application. Our organic granular fertilizers are packed in easy to handle 25 kg. bags. Especially intensive plantations, where trees have covered most of the surface, can stil be accessed with our product. Exact application takes only little work compared to local manure.
QUALITY
Our organic granular fertilizers are made by the most advanced processing techniques. It is free from weed seeds and pathogens. Quality control guarantees a hygienic, homogeneous product of constant composition. Therefore, our organic granular fertilizers will give better results than local manure of compost. Each time our granular fertilizers are applied to your crops, a similar response can be expected due to the constant product quality. The low moisture content of our organic granular fertilizers enables long-term storage under appropriate conditions without significant effect on product quality.
RECOMMENDED APPLICATION RATE
On average an application rate of 3-5 kg. of our organic granular fertilizer per tree will be optimal. Younger trees (1-4 yr) need 2-3 kg per year. Application should be at the same times as chemical fertilizers are applied in the beginning of the growing season. Top dressing during the season is less effective, but can bee advised when trace nutrient deficiencies occur. Application in summer is only effective when irrigation is possible.
Our organic granular fertilizers should be applied on the surface under the tree canopy. Young trees should receive fertilizer within 0.5 meter from the stem. If possible, our organic granular fertilizers should be mixed carefully through the top soil. Damaging of the roots should be prevented.
When drip-irrigation is used, our organic granular fertilizers should not be applied over the whole surface, but locally. Banded application and incorporation in the soil close to the drip-irrigation will give the best results.
When applied at planting of new trees, part of the local manure can be substituted by our granular fertilizers. No more than 5 kg. Our organic granular fertilizers should be used per planting hole of 1 m³. As usual it should be mixed well with the excavated soil. Under appropriate water supply and adequate application, no salt damage or accumulation will occur.
Our organic granular fertilizers have a low sodium and chloride content and is therefore suitable for saltsensitive crops like citrus. It's soluble nutrients will not cause salinization. In this aspect our organic granular fertilizers do not differ from chemical fertilizers. Base fertilization with our organic granular fertilizers reduces the required amount of chemical fertilizer. Contact your local distributor for a detailed advise on soil fertility management.
ANALYTICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Product characteristics are listed on a seperate sheet. A summary is printed on the back of the 25 kg bags of our organic granular fertilizer. Chemical, physical and microbial characteristics of our fertilizers are continuously monitored by a special lab.
